Passenger Transportation JSC reminds passengers of the rules for transporting animals on trains. In order for the trip with a pet to be comfortable, it is necessary to familiarize yourself with the established rules in advance.

Only domestic pets are allowed to be transported on passenger trains, their number should not exceed two (cats, dogs, birds). To travel on a passenger train with an animal, it is necessary to buy out the entire compartment in order to ensure the safety of other passengers from possible allergic reactions. If the owner of the animal is absent, boarding the train is not possible.

On commuter trains, passengers can also transport up to two pets free of charge if they are in special carriers (boxes, baskets, cages).

Transportation of domestic animals and birds is permitted only with the appropriate veterinary passports or certificates. They must be presented when boarding the train.

The owners themselves are solely responsible for their pets. They must keep them in a cage, box, or basket and control them at stations, when boarding/exiting the train, as well as on the train itself. Owners must feed and clean up after their pets.

Rules for Large Dogs

  • Large dogs must be muzzled and on a leash.
  • A baggage fee is charged based on the dog's weight.
  • Large dogs are placed exclusively in the non-working vestibule of the first car.
  • The owner is fully responsible for the dog's safety and behavior during the trip.

Exceptions

A guide dog accompanying its blind owner may be in any type of car. There is no additional charge for it.

Prohibited Areas & Restrictions

  • Animals are not allowed in restaurant cars.
  • Animals that pose a threat to the life and health of passengers and train employees cannot be transported.

The national carrier asks passengers to plan their trips with pets in advance and consult about the conditions for the travel of animals by calling the toll-free number 1433, as well as at the ticket offices of the station.
