MUSIC AND DRAMA THEATRE NAMED AFTER N. BEKEZHANOV

The theater itself began with the self-regulated movement of the Karatal, Enbekshikazakh and Aksai districts. Several such enthusiastic circles united and played their first play, the tragedy "Akan seri – Aktoty" by Gabit Musrepov, at the end of November 1955. In 1960, the theater moved to Kyzylorda, and in 1967 it was named after Nartai Bekezhanov, Honored Artist of the Kazakh SSR, akyn and composer. The theater is successful to this day: it adequately represented Kazakhstan at the 1000th anniversary of the city of Kazan, and the performance based on the play by Dulat Isabekov "Two meetings in the Old house" was warmly welcomed by the London audience.
