KOK-TOBE

Do you want to see Almaty in the palm of your hand from a kilometer high? Then you need to climb the Kok-Tobe. You can climb the mountain by cable car or by a winding highway. The main attractions of Kok-Tobe are a TV tower and an amusement park. Numerous attractions, a climbing wall, a zoo and an exotarium attract tourists of all ages. From the observation decks and the ferris wheel, you can admire the green hills, mountain peaks and the city panorama. Painted dishes, accessories, and leather goods are also sold on the territory of the park.

BOTANICAL GARDEN

The Botanical Garden was founded in 1932 and covers an area of 103.6 hectares. In 2019-2020, thanks to the large-scale reconstruction of the garden, a comfortable area was created for guests to relax and get acquainted with the flora. There is a unique collection of thousands of plants from different continents. There are several groves on the territory, including birch, oak and pine. In the greenhouses you can admire the most exotic inhabitants of the garden. After the reconstruction, fish and swans appeared in the ponds. Drinking fountains and toilets are equipped for the comfort of visitors.

KAZAKH NATIONAL OPERA AND BALLET THEATRE NAMED AFTER ABAY

The Opera and Ballet Theater was opened in 1934. Now the theater is located in a classical style building. The name of the theater is given in honor of the Kazakh poet and thinker of the XIX century Abai Kunanbayev. The modern KNOBT is one of the largest theaters of the Eurasian space. The most famous masters of the stage are part of the KNOBT creative group. The concert hall accommodates 793 seats. Opera and ballet productions by world classics and national authors are hosted on the stage of the theater.

ALMATY ZOO

The zoo was opened in 1937. The zoo has 500 species of animals, numbering about four thousand individuals; many species are listed in the Red Book. Among the inhabitants are a variety of primates, giraffes, a red wolf, many representatives of felines: white lions, servals, panthers, cougars and lynxes. 13 hectares of the area is reserved for land animals, and on 19 hectares there are ponds with waterfowl. In the Marine Aquarium pavilion, you can admire fish, amphibians, crustaceans and mollusks.
